Oats are rich in natural fibre and are a fantastic way to keep our bowel healthy. That’s why I keep searching for recipes to inculcate oats in my diet. You know, with our Indian taste buds it’s difficult to find such recipes that include oats and suits our palate but fortunately, this oats smoothie recipe comes out very beautifully.
Actually I’m not a very big fan of smoothies and ideally when someone asks me Do you like a smoothie? I reply that it’s not my cup of tea. But then this one day in my yoga class I happen to taste the smoothie that I’ve shared here. First time in my life I happen to acknowledge ” the concept of smoothie” which is its satiating factor, along with being nutritious and tasty.
A few days back I asked my same friend the recipe of that smoothie and trust me since then, this smoothie is being made every day in my kitchen especially in the morning.
The highlight of this recipe is the half teaspoon coffee powder that I’ve added in here, which takes the taste of smoothie to the next level. Do try yourself this easy, delicious and filling smoothie recipe and don’t forget to share your experience with me!! Do let me know how it turns out for you. Let’s see how to prepare the smoothie.
How to make Oats Smoothie:-
- Lightly roast the oats in a pan for few minutes. Roasting oats is very necessary as roasting will reduce the phytic acid content in oats.
- Phytic acid will hamper the digestion of oats therefore it is necessary to roast them or soak overnight.
- Now place the oats, banana, brown sugar, milk, almonds, walnuts and berries into the blender.
- Blend until it becomes smooth and creamy. Enjoy immediately!!
This filling and nutritious Breakfast Oats Smoothie recipe can be the best way to start your day as it is filled with good fats, protein, magnesium, calcium, potassium and a hell lot of nutrients. This can be the best pre-workout, post-workout or mid-day meal in case you want to try something new.
